What Is Documentary Wedding Photography?
Documentary wedding photography sometimes called photojournalistic or candid wedding photography is about capturing your wedding day as it actually happens. No stiff poses. No forced smiles. No interrupting the moment to stage it.
It's your dad's face when he sees you walk down the aisle. Your best friend ugly-crying during the vows. The quiet moment between you and your partner when no one else is watching. Those are the images that make you feel something twenty years from now and that's exactly what I'm there to capture.
My approach blends documentary storytelling with editorial direction. I'm largely an observer a fly on the wall who knows when to step in and when to disappear. The result is a wedding gallery that tells the full story of your day with honesty, beauty, and intention.

One of the things that sets my work apart is that I shoot on both film and digital and I genuinely love both for different reasons.
Film Wedding Photography
There is something about analog film that digital simply cannot replicate. The grain, the warmth, the way light wraps around a face on 35mm or medium format, it feels nostalgic and timeless in a way that instantly elevates imagery.
Film forces intentionality. Every frame matters. The result is photography that already looks like a memory.

Digital Wedding Photography
Digital gives me speed, flexibility, and the ability to capture fleeting moments in low light perfect for dimly lit reception halls, late-night dance floors, or fast-moving candid moments. I shoot digital with a fine art, cinematic approach so the images still feel elevated and editorial, never flat or overly processed.
Many couples choose a combination of both, film for the ceremony and portraits, digital for the reception. It's a beautiful way to have the best of both worlds.

Super 8 is the most nostalgic moving image format ever created and it is having a serious moment in the wedding world for good reason.
A Super 8 highlight reel of your wedding day is a cinematic, dreamy, emotional keepsake that feels completely different from a traditional wedding video. It's raw, romantic, and real. I offer Super 8 as an add-on for couples who want their wedding day to live and breathe on screen.

What It's Like Working With Me
I grew up the oldest of seven sisters. Photoshoots were basically a daily occurrence in our house. My older sister was a professional photographer. My little sister is a wedding planner. Storytelling and celebration are literally in my DNA.
